Webinar Title: Innovations in Reinforcing Options for Concrete
Presenter: Danielle Kleinhans, PhD, PE, FACI
Date and Time: Wednesday, July 9, 2025 | 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. CT
Women in ICRI is proud to promote this upcoming webinar with Women in Restoration and Engineering (WiRE) and their partner, the American Composites Manufacturing Association (ACMA).
This webinar will give design engineers an overview of current options for mild reinforcement, covering both traditional steel and the growing use of glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) bars. The presenter, with over 20 years of industry experience, will first summarize the current practices and resources for steel reinforcement. Then, the webinar will highlight the rapid development of codes and specifications for GFRP, showcasing its increasing adoption with real-world examples from users, owners, and contractors. Finally, the presentation will emphasize the key differences in material properties and structural design considerations between steel and GFRP reinforcement.
