Please join us on May 29th to hear John Kosednar and Nick Kwan from WSP discuss their award winning project. This project includes the investigation and repairs to a structure with an aging Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) system and high levels of chloride in the parking garage concrete slabs. This presentation will discuss what was found during the investigation, the options for repairs, the repairs that were completed, and the challenges encountered throughout the project.
Nick Kwan Bio
With a decade of experience at WSP, Nick Kwan has established a reputation for excellence as a Project Manager and Team Leader. Over the past 10 years, Nick has successfully demonstrating exceptional leadership, problem-solving skills and has led numerous high-profile projects; including the Granite Club Garage Rehabilitation Project which won the prestigious Award of Excellence in the Parking Structures category for the 2024 ICRI Project Awards Program. At WSP, Nick has been instrumental in fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless communication and efficient workflow. With a passion for innovation and a dedication to continuous improvement, Nick is always looking for new ways to enhance project outcomes and exceed client expectations.
John Kosednar Bio
With over 35 years of experience in the industry, John Kosednar is a highly respected Project Director known for his exceptional technical knowledge in the field of reinforced concrete structures. Throughout his distinguished career, John has successfully overseen a wide range of projects, demonstrating unparalleled leadership, strategic vision, and technical acumen. John’s deep understanding of corrosion and its impact on infrastructure has made him a sought-after expert in the field. His expertise has been instrumental in driving advancements in corrosion prevention and control, contributing to the development of industry standards and best practices as a long term member of several NACE International (now AMPP) Technical Committees pertaining to durability of reinforced concrete structures, as well as a voting member of CSA’s S413 Committee, which governs design of parking structures in Canada. John has led numerous high-profile projects, ensuring the implementation of innovative solutions to mitigate corrosion and extend the lifespan of critical assets which includes the Granite Club Garage Rehabilitation Project which won the prestigious Award of Excellence in the Parking Structures category for the 2024 ICRI Project Awards Program.
