ACI is pleased to be hosting its ACI Concrete Convention in-person, in Baltimore, MD, on October 26 – 29, 2025. The convention will have a robust schedule that includes traditional in-person activities. Select programming will also be available on-demand to attendees who choose to participate remotely. All committee meetings and all social events will be limited to in-person attendees.

Description:
This will be a panel discussion of experts in our industry including professors, field technicians, specifiers, manufacturers, sales and technical representatives. The panel will answer questions on how we are doing as an industry, training the next generation of employees. What we are doing well as an industry and what we need to improve. The panel will discuss what makes technical training effective from their perspective and experience. What specific gaps are we seeing in industry? Are there new tools available we should be using? How do we measure the success of technical training?

This presentation will identify the types and causes of concrete deterioration and provide guidance for prevention, protection, mitigation, repair, and maintenance to address these issues. Attendees will learn to recognize and classify the complex factors compromising concrete durability, ranging from design errors and structural history to accumulating physical, chemical, and mechanical damage like corrosion, fatigue, and freeze-thaw cycles.
