Chapter President Guide

To find better and more efficient ways to support ICRI Chapter leaders, ICRI has developed this Checklist and Guide. Here you will find a consolidated checklist of necessary activities by month, details on what to do with your monthly chapter update, best practices on internal and external communications, a monthly to-do list, and other items of interest to you, the volunteer chapter leader.

As with all things ICRI, this is a living document and the processes of chapter relations changes all the time. So if you have ideas or suggestions on how this document can better serve you, please let ICRI know.

Chapter Roundtables

In order to focus on chapters and the issues that face volunteers in chapter leadership roles, ICRI developed the Chapter Roundtable meetings. These 2-day meetings bring together ICRI leaders, ICRI staff and chapter leaders in order to reinforce the support chapters receive from ICRI and introduce local leaders to each other so everyone can exchange ideas for success. ICRI provides the meeting space and food.

Chapters are invited to send at least two representatives (providing transportation and lodging) and all walk away with a better understanding of what it means to have a success local ICRI chapter. There are two meetings a year and it takes two full years to reach all ICRI chapters. Chapters will be sent official invitations when the Roundtable is coming to their area.

ICRI Guest Speaker Presentation Guidelines

ICRI strives to ensure that the presentations we offer at our National Conventions and Chapter Events are generic in nature; not a sales pitch for the presenter or the presenters company. A presentation that turns into a sales pitch can upset attendees who are there to learn. Included in the document are the prerequisites we require to be a presenter. Be clear and concise when informing your presenters of your rules and their consequences.
