Long-Time ICRI Member Lee Sizemore Passes

It is with a heavy heart that we report to you the passing of long-time ICRI Member and volunteer Lee Sizemore.

Lee worked with Monson Nicholas, Villa Park, Illinois for almost 24 years and recently retired after nearly 37 years in the industry. Lee served in several capacities for ICRI, most notably on the Education Committee and on the ICRI Board of Directors from January 2011 until December 2016.

A post on Lee’s Facebook page (July 17 at 11:08 PM) broke the sad news.  “This is the easiest way to let all of Lee's friends know. Lee passed away at 8:00 tonight at Rush Hospital. He was recuperating from his big hip replacement and tumor removal when his breathing went bad and he had a heart attack. The doctors did everything they could but couldn't get him back for us.”

Lee was cremated and a memorial was held on July 20. Lee’s wife Deb posted on social media that if anyone wished to make a donation in Lee’s name, they should make a donation at the Lurie Children’s Foundation – the link is below.

Keith Harrison, 2016 ICRI President, shared, “While I served on the Board of Directors and through the years on the ICRI Education Committee with Lee it was always a pleasure and asset to have him on your team. He cared greatly for ICRI and our industry and it showed with all his actions. Outside of ICRI we shared our many fishing stories and he was simply just a pleasure to be around and a great friend. He will be greatly missed.”

Bud Earley, 2013 ICRI President, added, “I am sorry to hear about the passing of Lee Sizemore. It truly was a pleasure to work with Lee on so many ICRI committees. I will never forget the warmth his smile brought to the room of each committee meeting he attended. The loss of Lee will be felt by many members. May the memories of his wonderful personality and many contributions be celebrated by all.”

ICRI Immediate Past President Ralph Jones said, “I first met Lee in 2005 when the ICRI convention was in Kansas City. We had a raffle and Lee won an autographed Chiefs football. Lee always made a point to tell me he kept the football next to his Chicago Bears football. Lee would always ask about me and my family. Not only was Lee an outstanding member and leader in ICRI for years, but he was also someone that was honestly concerned about the individual people he associated with. Lee will be missed by ICRI and the lives of the countless individuals that he met.”
