SUMMARY:Webinar: Hard Hats to Helmets - Saving Lives
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW \n  \nFree Educational Resource!\nProgram Description\nPresented on behalf of ICRI Committee 120: The traditional hard hat has been essentially the same for the past 60 years. Helmets offer superior protection for construction workers. Traumatic Brain Injuries are responsible for 25% of all construction fatalities\, and many life-altering injuries. These safety helmets are inspired by the best features of hard hats for construction and head protection for sports such as rock climbing and cycling. They incorporate energy-absorbing liners\, and other technologies to ensure the head is better protected from impact. Concrete repair activities expose the workforce to significant risk of head injuries. Helmets can help the construction industry reduce these avoidable fatalities and injuries. \n  \nLearning Objectives\nThrough attending this program\, registrants will understand the following concepts and be able to apply them to their professional practice: \n\nThe history of the hard hat\nThe technical and regulatory differences between hard hats and helmets\nHow to overcome objections to the change from hard hats to helmets\, including hardhat “myth busting”\nSpecific incident narratives in which hardhats saved lives\n\n  \nCost\nFREE \n  \nPresenter\n\n\n\n\n\nMr. Scott M. Greenhaus\nSr. Vice President\, Structural Technologies \nScott is affiliated with Structural Technologies a construction technology and service provider specializing in concrete repair\, strengthening\, protection and new construction products\, systems and services throughout the United States and the Middle East.
