1 Flax,David   X       Line 268 - Capital E in Air-Entraining.
Line 288 - No space before period.
Lines 242 and 298 - There is a lot of repitition between these two sections which is contrary to the "concise" goal of CSI.
Lines 338 and 339 - Wrong indent.
Lines 160 and 340 - Add another blank line as is standard between specification Parts.
Lines 467 and 475/6 and others - The first says manufacturer's recommendations while the second says manufacturer's written instructions. We need to be consistant. I like the second better.

Item # Member Comments Attached Files
1 Matthew Hansen Revised Spec Attached

Comment 1: Change insertion to line 78 to read "or historical test data"

Comment 2: Line 112 would read better if worded as such "Any work covered up without inspection shall be subject to rejection by the engineer."

Comment 3: Call for manufacturer's written approval of frozen materials prior to use on project. Change line 132 to read as follows "If materials have frozen, obtain manufacturer's written approval prior to use on project, and do not stir liquids or mix materials until they are completely thawed."

Comment 4: Line 216 Change to read “A corrosion inhibiting admixture shall be included in the mix in areas where repair will be made to reinforced concrete exposed to brackish water, salt spray, or deicers” Not all partial and full depth repairs will require the addition of corrosion inhibiting admixtures. Some may be in non-corrosive environments or in non steel reinforced concrete.

Comment 5: Line 227 Change to read “A corrosion inhibiting admixture shall be included in the mix in areas where repair will be made to reinforced concrete exposed to brackish water, salt spray, or deicers”. Not all partial and full depth repairs will require the addition of corrosion inhibiting admixtures. Some may be in non-corrosive environments or in non steel reinforced concrete.

Comment 6: Line 239 Change to read “A corrosion inhibiting admixture shall be included in the mix in areas where repair will be made to reinforced concrete exposed to brackish water, salt spray, or deicers”. Not all partial and full depth repairs will require the addition of corrosion inhibiting admixtures. Some may be in non-corrosive environments or in non steel reinforced concrete.

Comment 7: Line 274 Change maximum allowable slump with high range water reducer to 9”.

Comment 8: Lines 316 thru 323 Replacement of steel with epoxy coated steel should be an option. The steel that is replaced should actually match that is existing

Comment 9: Line 384 Minimum depth of concrete removal should be ½” not 3 ½”.

Comment 10: Line 473 Add paragraph “Place all concrete and prepackaged materials within open time of mortar scrub coat and any bonding agents.” Placement of repair mortar within open time of the mortar scrub coat and any bonding agents is imperative to success of the repair.

Comment 11: Line 504 Proposed addition to spec calls for light broom texture finish. This may not be appropriate in areas where this specification is applied to interior repairs. Should the finish match surrounding finish.

Comment 12: Line 505 Sentence beginning with “The minimum desired cover…” should actually be a new paragraph. It has nothing to do with the finish.
