[SC] SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

Welcome to the meetings,
member list, and officer information page for the Southern California chapter.
May 7, 2007
~ Southern California ICRI President’s Message ~
Dear Members:
The Southern California International Concrete Restoration Institute (SC-ICRI) has undergone a significant reorganization during the last 6 months of 2006. The Los Angeles and San Diego Chapters of ICRI were combined into a single chapter that encompasses all of Southern California. The chapter encompasses a geographic area that extends from Ventura to San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, over to the Arizona border and South to the Mexican border.
The newly merged Chapter is also part of a new realignment of the national regions. San Diego was previously part of Region 9 and will now be in Region 8. The new Region 8 encompasses all of California, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada.
The last 18 months have been extremely busy for SC-ICRI. San Diego hosted the national ICRI convention in the spring of 2006. SC -ICRI hosted a Golf tournament and a cocktail social hour during the national convention. The ICRI has become extremely active in presenting seminars in the San Diego County area. There was excellent attendance for the Volatile Organic Components (VOC) seminar put on by the Southern California ICRI Chapter in San Diego in October of 2006. ICRI also co-hosted a Golf tournament in San Diego with the San Diego chapter of the Construction Specification Institution in September of 2006.
SC -ICRI will be working diligently to seek your assistance in expanding our presentation of seminars and programs in additional areas of Southern California in the next few months.
Contracts were recently signed for a 2-day seminar program and a 1-day golf tournament to be held at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Rancho Mirage, California. This seminar will be conducted over October 4, 5 and 6, 2007. You will be receiving mailings and E-mail information within the next few weeks containing all of the pertinent registration and Seminar agenda information.
We are working rapidly to confirm our slate of speakers and to establish a comprehensive, enlightening and fun filled program for all of our Southland members and their spouses and guests. We are trying to keep costs at a minimum so that more of you will be able to attend. We trying to develop a program that will enable members living in the local area and wish to attend the functions on a day to day basis and not have stay overnight in the hotel.
I hope you will contact me or any of our present BOD and committee members regarding your specific interests pertaining to future seminars, programs or training. This valuable input will allow the BOD to work effectively to provide training, information and social events desired and tailored to the needs and desires of the ICRI members in Southern California. For your convenience a roster of our current officers and committee chairmen have been included with this letter.
The existing San Diego Board of Directors and officers has agreed to continue to lead the newly formed Chapter, through the year 2007. If any of you are interested in becoming a Committee Chair or performing as an Officer or Board Member, please contact me at your earliest convenience. You contact me at (858) 695-8174 or at rogodfrey@floorspy.com .
SC- ICRI will be accepting nominations in August, 2007 for nominations and volunteers for officers, Board of Directors and volunteers for committee chair positions and general volunteer workers for 2008. Elections will be held in October 2007, with the new officers and board members being seated on January 1, 2008.
The SC – ICRI Board and I look forward to significant growth in the number of members and in the quality of programs that we offer our members in the future. Any contribution you and your company can provide in time and effort to improve our organization will be greatly appreciated. Remember - any organization is only as good as the members who participate in producing the quality of activities that benefit the entire membership.
ICRI is a strictly volunteer association that provides written standards for performance of workmanship and educational services for its members. I wish to thank the present Board of Directors and all the people who have assisted us in the last 18 months to accomplish this significant reorganizational task. I would like to thank the Previous Officers in the Los Angeles Chapter for their assistance and cooperation in making this complex change possible. I would like to thank all of the members and the Board of Directors of the old San Diego Chapter for their invaluable assistance and effort in creating this new and dynamic organization.
I hope to meet all of you personally in the future and look forward to working as effectively as possible as your President for the remainder of the year.
Best of luck to all of you in the future. I look forward to working with you and accomplishing many great things during the remainder of 2007.
Sincerely,
Ralph O. Godfrey SC – ICRA President
