A
variety of repair materials, tailored to the degree of distress of
the existing concrete and the chemical exposure, was used to repair
and restore areas of this large chemical manufacturing facility in
the Czech Republic. The existing polymer coatings had proven
inadequate to provide protection. Micro-silica-modified mortars and
concrete, fiber-reinforced materials, and polymer-modified cements
were used to rebuild floors and walls, line containment structures,
and provide negative-side waterproofing to walls below the level of
the nearby Elbe River.
