ICRI Announces Formation of First Student Chapter
Rosemont, IL – October 21, 2011 – The International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) announces the
formation of the California State University, Chico Student Chapter. The ICRI Board of Directors
approved its 34th chapter and first student chapter during the ICRI 2011 Fall Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The ICRI Chapters Committee worked diligently with the Director/Program Coordinator of the Concrete
Industry Management Program in the Engineering Department of California State University Chico to revise and adapt
the current new chapter kit to accommodate the needs of student chapters. The new CSU Chapter is based at California
State University, Chico, with Program Coordinator Tanya Wattenburg Komas, Ph.D. as the faculty advisor. Past Chapter
Committee Chair Beth Newbold said she was thrilled to have the CSU Students as the first ICRI Student Chapter as they
have been extremely active at ICRI Conventions in the past two years and knows they will be an asset to the industry.
Anyone interested in joining this new chapter or learning more about their activities should visit
ICRI’s web site – at www.icri.org - and click on the “Local Chapters” tab. There you will find information on
