ICRI NEWS ARCHIVES ICRI ANNOUNCES 2006 PROJECT OF THE YEAR AND AWARD OF EXCELLENCE WINNERS
Des Plaines, IL – January 2, 2007 – The International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) announces the winners of the 2006 Project Awards. The Mayorhold MSCP, Northampton, United Kingdom, was chosen as the ICRI 2006 Project of the Year. ICRI presented the award to C-Probe Systems, LTD, Cheshire, United Kingdom, on November 2, 2006, at the ICRI 2006 Fall Convention in Denver, Colorado. The Mayorhold multi-story car park (MSCP) had acclaimed notoriety when the President of the Royal Institute of British Architects included the parking garage on the list of buildings "worthy of demolition." The refurbishing program, however, completely transformed both the external appearance and the internal functionality and ambiance, as well as stabilizing the structure for a revitalized 25-year life. The scheme embraces state-of-the-art repair techniques and cutting-edge technology to control corrosion and added new lighting to significantly improve the "feel and safety of the garage for customers. ICRI also awarded seven 2006 Awards of Excellence. Detailed descriptions of the winning projects can be found in the November/December 2006 issue of the Concrete Repair Bulletin and in the Awards section of our website. Please contact Dale Regnier, Manager, ICRI Marketing and Chapters, at 847-827-0830, if you are interested in the availability of high-resolution electronic photographs for many of the 2006 award winning projects.
