ICRI ANNOUNCES 2005 PROJECT OF THE YEAR AND AWARD OF EXCELLENCE WINNERS

Des Plaines, IL – January 6, 2006 – The International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) announces the winners of the 2005 Project Awards. The Delayed Coking Unit Turnaround, Southwestern United States, was chosen as the ICRI 2005 Project of the Year.

ICRI presented the award to Structural Preservation Systems, Inc., Gilberts, Illinois, on November 3, 2005, at the ICRI 2005 Fall Convention in Kansas City, Missouri. The overall approach incorporated innovative project construction phasing, precast, cast-in-place, and post-tensioned concrete element construction technology, as well as incorporating extremely durable materials of construction developing a process coined the "T/A Civil Approach" (TCA). Structural Preservation Systems shared the honors with project partners STS Consultants, Ltd., LaFarge Aluminates, and Eagle Precast, Inc. The owner requested confidentiality.

ICRI also awarded seven 2005 Awards of Excellence. Detailed descriptions of the winning projects can be found in the November/December 2005 issue of the Concrete Repair Bulletin and in the Awards section of our website.
